Michelle's Background in Physical Therapy & Pilates

As a high school and college athlete, Michelle became interested in human movement, injury prevention and treatment at an early age. She attended Augustana College in Rock Island, IL where she ran track and graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She went on to earn a degree with honors in physical therapy at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, IL.

Her interest in running led her first to Eugene, Oregon where she worked with world-class runners, elite gymnasts and active people of all ages. But the sun and mountains of Colorado beckoned and she has called the Front Range her home since 1991.  She has worked at several prominent sports medicine clinics in the Boulder/Denver area as a Sr. physical therapist, Pilates instructor, clinical instructor for graduate students, mentor for new graduates, as well as director of clinical operations.

Throughout her career, Michelle has always enjoyed the challenge of learning new evidence-based treatments and exercise methods to better serve her clients. She has certifications in manual therapy, dry needling, Kinesiotaping, and pelvic floor dysfunction for women and men. She is also a nationally certified Pilates instructor, having received her training in 2005 and 2006 from PhysicalMind Pilates based in New York.

Michelle aspires to lead a healthy lifestyle including exercise and good wholesome food. She enjoys Pilates, yoga, traveling, skiing, cycling, climbing, hiking, running with her rescue dog and occasionally couch-surfing with her two snuggly cats.
